Natural Creations - Upcycle/recycle God’s works of art
What could you create with just a rock, a leaf, and a little imagination? Natural Creations is a joyful, hands‐on art class that invites students to explore the beauty of God’s world and transform everyday natural objects into something new. Using flowers, leaves, rocks, sticks, nuts, and other found materials, students learn to spot beauty and potential in the simplest things around them.
Class projects will include:
-Mini terrariums
-Flower‐pressed cards and bookmarks
-Handmade paper with natural dyes
-Mixed media pieces to decoupaged art
-Up-cycled jewelry
-Nature weaving
-Pinecone creatures
-Decorate memory boxes
-Twig frames
-Build whimsical fairy houses from sticks
Because this class is hands‐on, glue and paint will be frequent companions, so students should come dressed in clothing that can get messy.
There are no grades in Natural Creations. The only “homework” is to notice the world around them and dream up ideas for future projects. The heart of the class is helping children build confidence as they create, explore, and discover the God-given natural art woven into our everyday life.
