World Geography: Exploring Countries and Cultures

Travel the world as you explore diverse countries and cultures while learning geography with this 30 week class built on My Father’s World curriculum Exploring Countries and Cultures. Taking each continent one at a time, students will learn which countries make up that continent, where those countries are located, and then dive deeper into the unique cultures of approximately 20 countries around the world.

Students will learn about ecosystems, industry, and lifestyles in different parts of the world. Students will learn map skills, including how to use an atlas and the geographic coordinate system. An optional enrichment vocabulary component will focus on geographic terms. Activities for each country will include understanding currency exchange, translating common words into the local language, identifying famous landmarks/tourist attractions, preparing traditional food, making native crafts, and listening to ethnic music.

**Food is a large component of this class. If your child has food allergies, I am happy to work with you to provide a list of foods used in class so accommodations can be made.**

All materials and supplies will be provided by the tutor, covered by the supply fee.

Homework requirement: The course will have light to medium homework to reinforce lessons at home. For families who desire to dig deeper, enrichment opportunities can be provided.
