Tutor Contract 2026-2027

Exclusive Employment Agreement:

  • Tutor agrees to tutor for the entire 30/32-week school year.

  • Tutors agree not to provide tutoring services for any other tutorial program during the time they are committed to tutoring with TCT, including co-op classes. This agreement does not apply to personal, one-on-one tutoring or any other teaching roles outside of a homeschooling context. If a tutor has any questions about what is appropriate, please bring it to administration for review/approval.

  • Absence: In the event of illness, travel, etc., it is the tutor’s responsibility to recruit and pay for a substitute. It is also the tutor’s responsibility to notify the administration of absence and name of substitute. Subs should be chosen from current tutors or approved sub list or approved in advance by administration.

  • Classes: In the case of a last-minute emergency, tutors are allowed to miss only one class per year without make-up class. This is NOT a free day to be used for travel, etc. This is for emergencies only such as emergency surgery, hospitalization, death in the family. Attempts should be made to find a substitute. In the event TCT is unable to meet due to inclement weather (snow, ice, etc.) this emergency day will be used as the one class day missed. The tutor is required to make up any other missed class. If the class cannot be made up, the tutor will need to reimburse families for the missed class.

  • Communication: Tutor agrees to communicate with families in a timely manner regarding syllabus, assignments, grades, etc. (We would suggest at least once a week for graded classes). Tutor agrees to become familiar with and utilize Schoology to communicate assignments and grades to families. TCT agrees to provide assistance/training where necessary for this educational platform.

  • Tutors agree to provide an accurate and thorough class description that not only describes their class but also lists all curriculum to be used including books to be read by the students in the class. Tutor agrees to teach the class that is described in the class description and cover the curriculum listed. If tutor does not adequately cover the curriculum and fulfill the class description, TCT will require the tutor to issue parents a refund for the class fee.

  • Tutors will use the Incident Form (which will be posted on Schoology) to document any accident or disciplinary situation. This will assist the administration in protecting/defending you when questions/concerns arise.

  • Policies: Tutor agrees to abide by and enforce TCT statements and policies. Statements and policies can be found on the TCT website.

  • Attendance: Tutor agrees to keep an accurate record of students enrolled in each class on the Google TCT form. This must be updated with the addition of new students. Tutors also agree to always have a paper copy of this form (roll) with them in class so that in the event of an emergency (fire, etc.) students may be quickly and accurately accounted for.

  • Class Fees: Tutor agrees to deposit Class Supply Fee and Tuition checks in a timely manner. This should be done within one week of the assigned dates on the families checks. (i.e., July 1 st , October 1 st , etc.) If there is an issue with checks being deposited in a timely manner and/or administration receives complains from families, the tutor will pay an administrator or another tutor to handle their checks and deposits.

  • Tutor Fees: Tutors agree to keep an accurate and current amount of all student fees paid on their Tutor Class work sheets, including discounts, bartering, and withdrawals. The dollar amount needs to be noted, and if the amount is different than the stated fees, there needs to be a note explaining the differences.

  • Tutor will agree to pay TCT 15% of Tuition collected for each student.  This will be divided into two payments at the beginning of fall and spring semesters. These payments are due within 15 days of receiving Administration billings. These payments may be made via Venmo or check. A $75 late fee will be applied to payments received after 15 days, with an additional $75 fee assessed for each subsequent month the balance remains unpaid. Accounts with outstanding balances after multiple notices may be subject to administrative action.

  • Data/Student Acquisition: Tutor agrees not to use the TCT student list for solicitations unrelated to TCT. Tutors also agree not to actively recruit TCT students toward another tutorial program.

  • Social Media: Tutor agrees not to post anything on personal social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.) that is negative or derogatory about TCT, its tutors, students, families, or policies. Tutors are encouraged to post on TCT Facebook page with class activities, labs and games that portray the class and the tutorial in a positive light.

  • Classroom: Tutor agrees to arrive at classroom at least 15 minutes prior to start of class, to be prepared each week to teach subject matter, to bag up all trash, vacuum, break down tables when requested so that classrooms can be left in same shape they were upon arrival.

  • Tutor agrees to teach classes with a balance, presenting both sides of an argument. Tutors should not discuss personal political opinions.

  • Tutor agrees to direct students to ask their parents about hot current events and political affiliation. Please refer to an administrator if there is a question.

  • Team Player: Tutor agrees that as a part of TCT they will be a team player. Tutors recognize that they will be asked to help in lunch, open house, registration, and other tutorial needs. Tutors also need to be flexible and at times zoom classes (not for K-2) or extend the school year as administration sees fit.

  • TCT Administration agrees to promote all classes to the best of our ability on the website, social media, homeschool events, etc. and to provide classroom locations suitable to our needs. TCT also agrees to help with issues that arise with student discipline and family difficulties. TCT will provide helpers, where possible, to help with setup, breakdown, and supervised study hall. TCT administration will do our best to provide a safe and fun environment for tutors, students and all who enter our doors.
