Expedition Earth: Geography for Explorers

Slurping your noodles is so rude, right? Wrong! In Japan, that’s a compliment! Spitting on someone is a horrible thing to do! Not in Kenya. Joining the “Clean Plate Club” when visiting your friend in China would mean they didn’t give you enough to eat. The world is so interesting!

The roots of geography mean to draw or write the earth. But to truly study (draw) the earth, we have to go deeper than landforms and topography to see the people and the cultures they represent. In this class, we will study countries from around the globe and learn their physical features and the ways their cultures are unique, from mountains to money and food to forests. We will travel to each continent and discover new people and places.

There will be light homework assigned each week to help parents continue learning at home, along with occasional (easy) projects/reports. All materials will be provided.

****PLEASE NOTE: If your student has food allergies or is not open to trying new foods, Food may OCCASIONALLY be provided to enhance our studies. ****
