Economics
(spring semester)
Exploring Economics by Notgrass is a comprehensive high school course that introduces students to fundamental economic principles and their application in everyday life. Students will study key concepts such as scarcity, supply and demand, markets, money and banking, labor, entrepreneurship, and the role of government in the economy. The course also explores personal finance topics, including budgeting, saving, investing, and responsible decision-making.
In this 15-week class for grades 9-12, students will have the opportunity to watch informative videos, participate in group activities, and engage in discussion as we learn the fundamentals of economics through a Christian lens.
Each week, students will read one unit from Exploring Economics, along with additional primary source materials from the companion text, Making Choices. Students will also complete lesson review questions, unit quizzes, and comprehensive exams.
Required Materials: Exploring Economics and Making Choices - Available as a bundle from Notgrass here.
I will purchase the Exploring Economics Quiz and Exam Book for each student and provide the necessary pages from the Exploring Economics Student Review Book. Students will need a 3-ring binder with paper and dividers, plus access to the internet and Schoology.
Homework: Weekly reading of text and original documents, plus completion of weekly questions or quizzes. Possible projects and writing assignments.
