Community Helpers
Over 30 engaging weeks, students will embark on a “neighborhood tour” to meet the brave and dedicated individuals who serve our community. From the sirens of fire trucks to the cockpit of an airplane, this class uses dramatic play, STEM projects, and guest visits to show how different roles collaborate to keep a town running. Students will not only learn about jobs like firefighters, police officers, pilots, and doctors, but they will also discover the tools, uniforms, and specialized skills required for each career. This class is designed to spark students’ curiosity and imagination while introducing them to local career possibilities through meaningful, engaging, and educational experiences.
Over the course of this program, students will learn to identify at least 12 different community helpers and understand their essential roles. Using a hands-on and integrated learning approach, we will dedicate 2 weeks of immersive study to each profession.
