Business Math

Is your student always looking for a way to make money or start a business? Does your student dream of owning a business? Being their own boss? Abeka High School Business Math is designed to equip students with the practical mathematical skills needed to navigate the world of business and personal finance. Through real-world applications, students will explore topics such as business management, budgeting, banking, interest rates, investments, taxes, and other business decision-making skills. This class will help your child understand concepts such as accounts receivable and payable, bookkeeping, the New York Stock Exchange, corporate bonds, and small business loans.

The course emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving, helping students develop financial literacy and learn to make informed choices about money and business operations. By blending foundational math with practical scenarios, students will gain a strong understanding of how math is used in everyday business situations, preparing them for future success in both personal and professional financial endeavors. Abeka Business Math provides detailed descriptions, examples, and ample practice problems, so your child can be on their way to becoming a business owner.

In-class assignments are designed to reinforce concepts taught in class and completed at home by the student. These assignments include a mix of individual exercises, real-world applications, and fun and engaging collaborative group tasks. Students will be assigned one project per semester. They will apply mathematical concepts to solve a real-world situation or create a practical scenario based on the project's guidelines.
