Algebra I
This 32-week course focuses on the study of linear and non-linear functions and their many representations. For 90 minutes each week, students will learn how to think algebraically and be better problem solvers. Students will work through rational numbers, expressions, complex linear equations and inequalities, polynomials, data analysis, and more. Students will also use a graphing calculator to aid in problem-solving. This course will teach students basic calculator techniques to improve ACT/SAT scores.
Students will watch tutor-made video lessons at home weekly and complete online assignments through a game-based program. Class time will be spent reinforcing the video lessons through hands-on activities and extended lessons for advanced learners. Students will need to come to class having viewed the lessons and completed their daily online assignments in order to stay on track and be prepared. Monthly assignment calendar sheets will be given to students to follow, ensuring they are ready to fully participate in class each week.
Not sure if your child is ready for Algebra just yet? Have them complete this placement test and check their answers to see where they are.
