Adventures In Literature

Everyone should enjoy good literature! This Middle School Language Arts class will focus on building a solid foundation in analyzing literature from a biblical worldview and improving writing skills. Students will read through several genres of literature including short stories, biographies, poetry, biblical text, historical and classical fiction. As we complete weekly readings, there will be lively classroom discussions to guide analysis of the text. Utilizing grammar and writing mechanics to compose well-crafted paragraphs, we will build up to writing 300-500 word essays. Students will be challenged incrementally so they can grow in their abilities in a flexible environment. There will be weekly grammar and reading assignments, occasional vocabulary quizzes, as well as tests upon conclusion of the novels. Tests and quizzes will be completed through Schoology.
